Art of Detox Week 3: Revive
The first week of Art of Detox was focused on assessing your mind, body, habits, and surroundings to discover what might be holding you back from healing. Last week, you cleared away the things that no longer serve you.
This week, Revive, is your time to create ideal conditions for healing. You will begin to return to yourself and discover what self-renewal means and looks like to you.
Who are you when your choices come from your inner knowing rather than external expectation? When you stop doing things because you “should” and start doing them because they feel right?
It’s time to get curious.
Letting Curiosity Lead the Way
This is your time to try new things. What makes you feel grounded? What brings you joy? What energizes you?
When you approach wellness with curiosity instead of control, you give yourself the freedom to explore. You might discover that what once felt like “work” now feels like care.
You may realize that dancing around your house is your preferred form of cardio. Or look forward to going to the grocery store because you have a new recipe you can’t wait to try. Perhaps you’ll find joy in keeping your home organized after rearranging the furniture because the space now feels fresh and alive again.
Remember what it was like to be a child, when you would do things just to see what would happen. Tap into that playfulness. See what’s possible when you trust your intuition.
How to Revive
Last week, we said that resistance is crucial for transformation. Your muscles only get stronger by opposing the force of weight, and you become braver every time you do something that feels scary. However, resistance can also be a sign that you’re not in alignment with who you truly are.
If something feels heavy or forced this week, pause and ask why. Are you resisting change, or are you pushing yourself into something that doesn’t work for you? Wellness shouldn’t feel like punishment—it should feel like freedom to be who you’re meant to be.
Revive Your Mind
- Start your morning without screens. Listen to your thoughts before inviting the world in.
- Try something that stimulates your mind in a new way. Read, paint, write, do a puzzle.
- Notice thoughts of self-doubt and shake them off, replacing them with encouragement.
Revive Your Body
- Move in ways that bring joy. Consistency matters more than intensity.
- Eat more fresh, colorful produce and drink plenty of filtered water.
- Listen to your body. Rest when you are tired. Eat when you are hungry.
Revive Your Environment
- Add scents, colors, and textures that make you feel grounded and peaceful.
- Dedicate a space in your home for rest, reflection, or gentle movement.
- Set habit triggers. Keep supplements in plain view or carry a bottle of water with you.
Revive Your Habits
- Replace “I should do” with “I want to.” Do what feels aligned with your energy and goals.
- Find little moments of joy every day and follow where it leads you.
- Plan meals and snacks ahead of time to avoid defaulting to processed options.
Revival Is Renewal
You’ve done the work of assessing and cleansing. Now, you get to rebuild with purpose. Let your body and intuition take the lead this week. You don’t need to worry about developing the perfect routine. Just choose what supports the person you’re meant to become.
If something fills you with dread, it’s not a character flaw or a sign that you “can’t” do it. It just means there’s a different, better fit for you. Give yourself the opportunity to find it. Honor your inner knowing.
