How to Make a DIY Natural Room Spray

If you love a fresh-smelling home but want to avoid the synthetic fragrances found in most store-bought sprays, making your own natural room spray is the perfect solution. Not only does it let you control the ingredients, but it also gives you a chance to repurpose empty supplement bottles.

With just a few materials and simple steps, you can refresh any space with a clean, uplifting scent that’s free of harmful chemicals. This DIY project is quick, easy, and completely customizable to your preferences.

What You’ll Need:

  • Empty Miron glass spray bottle (or any small glass spray bottle)
  • Distilled water
  • Witch hazel (acts as a preservative and helps disperse the oils)
  • Essential oils (eucalyptus, citrus, lavender, etc.)
  • Small funnel

How to Make Your Room Spray:

  1. Clean the bottle – Wash it thoroughly with warm water and soap, then let it dry completely.
  2. Fill with water and witch hazel – Using a small funnel, fill the bottle halfway with distilled water. Then, add 1 tablespoon of witch hazel to help preserve the mixture and evenly disperse the oils.
  3. Add essential oils – Choose your favorite essential oils and add 15-20 drops. Try eucalyptus for a refreshing scent, citrus for an energizing boost, or lavender for a calming aroma.
  4. Shake it up – Screw on the spray nozzle and shake well to mix everything together.
  5. Spritz and enjoy – Spray your natural room mist in any space for an instant refresh!

💡 Bonus: Create a sleep spray with calming scents, like lavender and chamomile.

That’s it! In just a few minutes, you’ve created a natural, non-toxic room spray that’s safe for you, your family, and the environment. No synthetic fragrances, no questionable chemicals – just pure, plant-based freshness.

Try experimenting with different essential oil blends to create a signature scent for your home. And next time you finish a supplement, don’t toss the bottle. Give it new life with another fun DIY project!
